Why is the Benitec connection so important? And wh

To address the second question first (many of you have queried me as to how great the significance of the deal is and why I don't say more. Or, why the company doesn't say more about it): It was my intent to cover this in the personal email desired to be sent after my return from San Diego. We all know what happened with that. Publicly, I have been sitting on my hands so-to-speak about this in an effort to help prevent (or not add to) certain doctors and entities from being inundated with calls & email from people posing ridiculous questions or demands. I think if there were to ever be a tally of companies subjected to absurd public reaction to the activities of a company, BMSN and its partners/affiliates would rank right up there at the top.
I believe the company refrains from further outlining the intent at this point out of need.
The Benitec deal is very, very significant; understanding what the combination of the Min science and the Benitec platform does means you have an understanding of just how monumental the successful application of the combination will be: This combination involves taking a novel siRNA delivery system that does a short term target of cells and integrating it with a different delivery system altogether that actually allows for a long term intended effect. With this new delivery system (Benitec), the cell creates the siRNA itself, rather than introducing the synthetic siRNA, thereby reducing the plausibility of toxicity and allowing for greater long term effects.
The coding is all very specific (based on Min's science) and introduced to the cells nucleus thereby directing the overall change (Benitec's platform). This combination allows for a very low dose treatment, can be used to target multiple genes, decreases toxicity and increases long term positive effects.
This is what "dovetailing" means by Koos with respect to the partnership.
So, when I say not only will they be targeting the cancer they will also teach the body how to heal itself, they are quite literally working to do just that.
Though Benitec are small compared to the long arm of BP, they are huge. This partnering between Regen & Benitec is huge with potential that far surpasses that most can imagine.
You must never forget that this science, although has been studied for many years, is relatively new considering that RNAi--silencing unwanted genes--was not fully discovered until 1998. Since then, it has become a major focus of researchers all around the world. Shoot, there are some early X Files episodes that talk about this being decades away or thought of as completely science fiction, I do believe.
Well, the time is now. And, we are invested in a company that is working to see this science fiction brought to the world of cancer treatment, among other nasty ailments.
