As you clearly say, Intergracer, this is a really key issue – even I'd say the key issue that must be given top priority by the CEO. Otherwise the company's profile and its credibility will stay riddled with holes and will look a mess to an impartial observer. Loyal shareholders cannot be left to marinate for ever.
