A teenage girl and a young man sought in a crossbow slaying in Eureka were taken into custody Monday.
Phoenix Triton King, 20, and the unidentified 16-year-old surrendered to a Humboldt County Sheriff's SWAT team around 3:15 p.m. They had been reported by residents who had heard news reports of a hunt for the homicide suspects.
The pair had been sought since shortly after noon Sunday, when two men were struck by arrows on the Samoa Peninsula, between Arcata Bay and the Pacific Ocean. A 44-year-old man died, having been struck in the face by an arrow. A 41-year-old man had injuries to the scalp, hip and shin.

helicopter, was conducted until 11:45 Sunday night by agencies including the California Highway Patrol, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Arcata Police Department, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Land Management.
The two were reported Monday afternoon near a nature center on the peninsula, about two miles north of the site of the attack.
Both the victims were homeless and had been living in an encampment for several months. It is believed that the suspects thought the victims had stolen items from their camp.
