Casa Grande Medical Center Deploys RADAR for Critical Test Results Management

BALTIMORE, Sept. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RADAR Medical Systems, a division of RadNet, Inc., announced today that Casa Grande Regional Medical Center has successfully implemented RADAR for Critical Test Results Management.

Prior to deploying RADAR, which provides automated, secure delivery, receipt and confirmation of any type of healthcare communication, Casa Grande used a manual system to contact referring physicians and to track results of those communications.

Toan Bui, RIS/PACS Administrator at Casa Grande, notes that a more secure process is a strong advantage on the compliance front. "We have proof that we have contacted our referring doctors, and we can run HIPAA-compliant reports in seconds," Bui said. "Not only can we track communication activity in RADAR, as opposed to a spreadsheet, we can also measure the productivity gains we're making."

RADAR is a secure healthcare communication platform, which supports any kind of messaging, to any device (tablet, phone, laptop, desktop). Casa Grande is taking advantage of that flexibility by also using RADAR as a quality control tool. "One thing that has changed our workflow a lot is using RADAR for Emergency Department discrepancy.  In the morning, the radiologists send a message back to the ED if they find a discrepancy on the plain film overreads they perform," Bui said. "It works very well for us."

Likewise, Casa Grande radiologists use the system to communicate to technologists if a re-take is necessary for a study.

Casa Grande uses RADAR in concert with eRAD PACS for closed-loop communication and RADAR can be integrated seamlessly with any HL7-compliant system.

"By automating physician communications and having a secure process in place, Casa Grande has streamlined its workflow," said Florence Present, Director of Sales for RADAR Medical Systems.  "This enables them to focus on patient care, instead of losing productive hours to managing a paper trail or to repeated follow-up attempts."
