LSI Named Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace in Its Industry for Fifth Consecutive Year

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LSI Corporation (Nasdaq: LSI ) today announced it was chosen No. 1 by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in the technology, information and research industries on the 2013 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Foundation has ranked LSI first in its industry. LSI also ranked sixth in the nation overall.

The annual Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List recognizes 100 companies across the United States that offer outstanding adoption benefits to their employees based on maximum financial reimbursement and paid leave time per adoption. The Foundation gathers its results through an annual survey of U.S. companies.

"Navigating through the adoption process can be a challenge, so we're happy to offer an employee program that can ease some of the financial impact and support such a great outcome," said Gautam Srivastava, senior vice president, Human Resources and Corporate Marketing, LSI. "This ranking by the Dave Thomas Foundation is great recognition of one of our strong employee benefits. Most important are the success stories and the feedback from our employees who tell us how much they appreciate the program and the positive impact it has had on their families and their ability to adopt a child."

LSI employee Kalyn Kovac and his wife took advantage of the benefit to adopt a seven-month-old daughter. "It was very simple and straightforward to apply for, and without it we probably wouldn't have our daughter today," Kovac said. "It's nice to work for a family-friendly company."

The seventh annual Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List helps raise awareness for foster care adoption and honors the businesses in the U.S. that are helping to support adoptive families.
