Nearly $600K in meth seized at Arizona port-of-entry

Wednesday Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Luis port-of-entry south of Yuma, arrested a 29-year-old man from Mexico after they found 12 pounds of meth, valued at more than $180,000, hidden in the front bumper of his Oldsmobile sedan, Rob Daniels, a Department of Homeland Security official, said in a news release.
On Thursday officers arrested a 31-year-old man from Mexico, after finding more than 26 pounds of meth worth more than $412,000 hidden under his Jeep SUV, Daniels said.
In both instances, officers were alerted to the meth by drug-sniffing dogs.
Both men were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, Daniels said.
