Honestly, all anyone has to do is look at the science and couple that with the every day challenges we all face dealing with government.
Case & point: I went to court last month fighting a reckless op charge. I stood in front of the judge with every bit of evidence to refute the officers charge. I did not do it. It was physically impossible for me to do what he charged. All the evidence was there. So, he lied. He stood before the judge and lied after I presented my evidence. Of course, in my delicate way (ha!) I told him and the judge he was lying. The judge had to have known he was lying, too, for the charge was reduced and I was slapped with a fine.
So, I mosey on over to the clerk who told me they were going to bill me the fees and I had thirty days to pay from the date of the bill (didn't take my checkbook since I was pretty sure I had the case beat). Well, several weeks went by and I had not received the bill. I forgot all about it up to that point. I called the courthouse and the clerk said it was mailed. No return mail by the post office... they didn't know why I didn't receive the bill. But, I absolutely did not receive it. Did they send it? I don't know! Did the post office deliver it to someone else? I don't know. But I know I didn't receive it. I had to pay online and had to call the DMV three days later to make certain they credited me so that my license would not be suspended. And oh, dealing with the DMV is fun!
Working with the government--any form of government--sucks! You darn near have to do their work for them. I know this. You know this. Why are so many forgetting this?
Yeah, I know, I went off there a wee bit. :-)
