More uses and reasons for using LED lighting .

LED lighting in traffic lights now too .........Why ?
The energy savings of LED lights can be huge. Assume that a traffic light uses 100-watt bulbs today. The light is on 24 hours a day, so it uses 2.4 kilowatt-hours per day. If you assume power costs 8 cents per kilowatt-hour, it means that one traffic signal costs about 20 cents a day to operate, or about $73 per year. There are perhaps eight signals per intersection, so that's almost $600 per year in power per intersection

Lets take New York as an example .
As of June 30, 2011, there were 12,460 intersections with traffic signals citywide
So that's 12,460 Intersections ........with lets say a lowball average of 4 traffic signals per intersection = 49,840 traffic signals . Let's say 50,000 for arguments sake.
50,000 x $600 per year to run = $30 Million
That is some serious $$$$$ right there
Now imagine if the city was using Renewable Energy (wind power ) to power their traffic lights .
The possibilities for LED lighting is endless . The potential revenue streams current and future for BLDW to expand is limitless . In which direction will BLDW head ? I don't know but I do know this ..........This market could be the NEXT GOLD RUSH !!
