Hi Kubi.. I looked into gold panning in Wis a few years ago when I got hooked on the Gold Rush TV show. It is pretty slim pickings around the state, if memory serves.. There is small super fine gold in some areas but it came from the glaciers so it would be really hard work, trying to make a buck at it. If I was 30 years younger I would still love to try it somewhere, just for the heII of it.
I wonder if Bob mentioned to the new owner that there is silver in that dried up river at the mine. At one time Bob and his kid thought they might be able to make mining it worthwhile.. I told him to save all the overburden from the gulches and put the stuff aside. Who know what you could get out of it. I wish life wasn't so short and the bucket list so big! LOL!
