I guess this lab would be proud to provide a confirmation testing of Medizone´s great Technology

http://www.antimicrobialtestlaboratories.com/...ddress.htm

http://www.antimicrobialtestlaboratories.com/...nology.htm

as greenowner already mentioned I agree that Dr. Benjamin Tanner is already informed and alerted that nothing is better than asepticSure. I tend to believe that we have seen that in several very colorful posts on this board already.

good to know the experts have an eye on us

as you can see they did tests on Xenex already..

http://www.xenex.com/case-study/lorem-ipsum-d...-hospital/ see Authors and Results

Reductions in VRE and C. diff after using Xenex. 30% reduction in VRE on the stem cell and leukemia units, with a 30% facility-wide reduction in C. diff , -

70% stays

I can understand that there is Kind of fear out that the competitor Medizone will take away the market Penetration

below is an interesting site which Shows that Medizone has no competitor

but first let us look at AsepticSure

http://www.medizoneint.com/video-gallery/chic...k-zoutman/

look at the conclusions on the Xenex tests here

http://xenexdev.zippysites.com/wp-content/upl...Poster.pdf

PX-UV method maybe a promising means to reduce the transmission of VRE and C.difficile in health-care settings and maybe an alternative to the use of bleach for C. difficile terminal cleaning.

Healthcare Sanitization – Optimizing Disinfection to Prevent Infections

Article 2

http://www.ahe.org/ahe/content/learn/newslett...hoenix.pdf

What Can We Do Better?

The purpose of this article is to help environmental Services professionals optimize existing surface disinfection strategies, so it serves us well to examine opportunities for improvement. Below are listed ten points of effort that would likely generally improve surface disinfection and help to decrease hospital infection rates.

Understand the Risks of Cleaning Without a Disinfectant Technology

A troubling development lately within the environmental services sector has been the proliferation of Claims related to microfiber-type cloths and mops for removing pathogens from contaminated surfaces. The companies making these claims are technically correct – microfiber cloths and mops do remove a higher percentage of microbes from surfaces than traditional cloths and mops. However, many of these companies fail to point out a key risk associated with use of the product alone.

Study Validates Steam Vapor with TANCS

August 4, 20110 Comments

Posted in News, Environmental Hygiene, Research, Research & Studies

A peer-reviewed study, "Reduction in the microbial load on high-touch surfaces in hospital rooms by treatment with a portable saturated steam vapor disinfection system," conducted by Sheri L. Maxwell, BS; Charles P. Gerba, PhD; Jonathan D. Sexton, MS (University of Arizona, Tucson) and Benjamin D. Tanner, PhD (Antimicrobial Test Laboratories, Round Rock, Texas ) concluded that TANCS®-equipped steam vapor units "reduced bacterial levels by greater than 90 percent and reduced pathogen levels on most surfaces to below the detection limit" within only a few seconds of treatment.

The study was carried out in eight occupied rooms of a long-term care wing of a hospital. Six surfaces per room were swabbed before and after steam treatment and analyzed for heterotrophic plate count (HPC), total coliforms, methicillin intermediate and -resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MISA and MRSA), and Clostridium difficile.

Researchers reported, "The steam vapor device consistently reduced total microbial and pathogen loads on hospital surfaces, to below detection in most instances" and that the system "provides a means to reduce levels of microorganisms on hospital surfaces without the drawbacks associated with chemicals."

The study report was published online June 8, 2011 by the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).

7 Steps to Safer Hospitals

Written by Benjamin D. Tanner

http://www.servicesmag.org/industry/green-cle...-hospitals

Every infection acquired in a hospital has a clear and distinct cause. However, a great assortment of people and germs call the hospital environment home, so there can be thousands of infection scenarios in just one hospital. Further complicating the matter, it could take months of work and thousands of dollars to trace even one of them!

We will probably never know the proximate cause of most hospital infections, but I venture that every hospital infection can be broken down into two main parts, the “opportunity” and the “invader.” The opportunity is exactly that thing that makes healthcare environments special—immune deficiencies, wounds, stressed bodies, indwelling, and disruptive medical devices. The invader is the disease-causing microorganism lurking on the patients’ bodies or in the patients’ rooms.

The “opportunity” part of the healthcare infection problem must be addressed by doctors, nurses, and people who design medical devices. In addition, healthcare personnel are responsible for killing invaders that lurk on the patients themselves.

Facility staff is the only group who will kill microbial invaders on the inanimate surfaces of the healthcare environment. Careful disinfection of inanimate surfaces is crucial to any attempt to reduce infection rates. Today’s microbial invaders have many pathways to get into people and cause infection. What’s more, germs of concern in today’s hospital survive extraordinarily well on environmental surfaces and pack a terrible, difficult-to-treat punch.

The purpose of this article is to help interested professionals to reinvent and optimize their surface disinfection strategy and techniques. Environmental services professionals can’t reduce the rich assortment of infection targets in a hospital, but they can reduce the likelihood that a pathogen that has infected one patient will make its way to another via a contaminated surface.
