Drillisch AG / Key word(s): Half Year Results/Forecast 08.08.2013 15:43 Dissemination of an Ad hoc announcement according to § 15 WpHG, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EQS Group AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drillisch AG: Best H1 results in history, again: Gross Profit + 9.4% to EUR56.1m (H1-2012: EUR51.3m); EBITDA +2.8% to EUR34.1m (H1-2012: EUR33,2m); EBITDA Margin increased to 23.2%; MVNO-subscribers +21.2% to 1,593m (H1-2012: 1,314m) Maintal, 08 August 2013 - Drillisch AG (ISIN DE 0005545503) was once again able to improve significantly all oft the major performance indicators in H1-2013, according to preliminary numbers. Sales Trend Service Revenues - essentially the income from the provision of the ongoing wireless services - which is adjusted for the sale of the sold prepaid subscribers in 2012 and the impact from the reduction of the termination rates fell by only 1.8 per cent to 142.6 million Euro (H1-2012: EUR145.2m). The decline has to be compared with a decline amongst the competitors of up to 4.5 per cent. Gross Profit In the first half oft he business year 2013, gross profit improved by9.4% to 56.1 million Euro (H1-2012: EUR51.3m). The margin increased by 7.6 percentage points to 38.2 per cent (H1-2012: 30.6%). AGPPU average gross profit per user The positive gross profit performance is underpinned by the average gross profit per user (AGPPU) indicator. This performance indicator factors in both revenue and the cost of materials, thus reflecting more clearly the operating strength of the wireless services business - the long-term value of the customer relationship - than the average revenue per user (ARPU) indicator, which only considers sales but not the cost of sales. The AGPPU for our MVNO customers is EUR5.98 (H1-2012: EUR5.21). This corresponds to an increase compared to the prior-year period of 14.8 per cent. This development was driven by more ca. 657 thousand budget rate plan subscribers (H1 2012: 313,205 subscribers), which represents an increase of 109.6 per cent compared to the prior-year period. The AGPPU for these subscribers is EUR9.54 (H1-2012 2012: EUR9.72). Our current focus is on the marketing of these rate plans. We are confident that we can further increase these high-value subscribers. EBITDA exceeded last years record results and is close to the upper end of the target corridor With an increase of 2.8 per cent to 34.1 million Euro (H1-2012: EUR33.2m), EBITDA reached a new record. EBITDA-Margin improved by 3.4 percentage points to 23.2 per cent (H1-2012: 19.8%). In the first six months of 2012, one-off of EUR6.1 million from the sale of prepaid accounts was included in Other operating income. Excluding this one-off in 2012, the consolidated EBITDA rose by EUR7 million or 25.4 per cent in the first half of 2013 compared to the previous year, which underscores the positive performance of our core operations. Consolidated Profits Consolidated profits increased by 132.6 million Euro to 139.3 million Euro (H1-2012: EUR6.8m) and thus the earnings per share rose by 2.77 Euro to 2.90 Euro per share (H1-2012: EUR0,13 per share). MVNO-subscriber growth + 21.2 per cent The MVNO subscriber based increased by 21.2 per cent or 279k subscribers to 1,593 million subscribers and so, the pleasant trend is continuing. The planned clean-up in the prepaid base - and the well-known clean-up of unprofitable subscribers in the old mobile service provider world leads to a share oft he MVNO subscribers in the total customer base of 87.4 per cent (H1-2012: 70.4%). Forecast: With the preliminary half year results and a positive and a positive outlook for H2-2013, Drillisch is expecting an EBITDA for the current business year, which is near towards the upper end oft he guidance of 67 to 70 million Euro. For the business year 2014 Drillisch is expecting a further improvement of about 10 to 15 per cent to 77 to 80 million Euro.
