FusionStorm Joins Forces With Synoptek to Deliver Market-Leading Managed IT Services and Cloud Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FusionStorm, an award-winning IT solution provider with national U.S. coverage and global distribution capabilities, has joined forces with Synoptek, a rapidly growing cloud solutions and managed IT services firm, to provide managed IT services and cloud solutions to organizations worldwide. The partnership will help meet growing demand for cloud-based "as-a-service" technology and powerful hosted solutions to support on-premise systems.

By combining their respective cloud and managed services businesses into a new entity, FusionStorm and Synoptek have strengthened the ability of both firms to deliver these solutions. FusionStorm will have a significant equity stake in the new entity, which will operate under the Synoptek brand, and FusionStorm CEO Dan Serpico will hold a seat on the Synoptek board.

"We believe this partnership with Synoptek will significantly benefit both companies and our mutual customers," Serpico said. "Synoptek is laser-focused on managed services and cloud solutions, with a global team and delivery infrastructure that provides a world-class customer experience. This partnership will enable us to deliver an enhanced managed services offering while continuing to build upon our expertise in enterprise-class data center infrastructure."

"This partnership with FusionStorm will optimize our delivery of managed IT services and strengthen our portfolio of private, public and hybrid cloud options to accommodate a strategic, high-performance customer base," said Tim Britt, CEO, Synoptek. "We will be able to establish a strong global footprint for delivery, scalability and high-availability solutions, and tap FusionStorm's expertise to fuel growth across a broad portfolio of enterprise IT offerings."

FusionStorm plans to use the proceeds from the transaction to continue its growth and investment in personnel, operations and new solution offerings. FusionStorm will focus these investments on its core business in data center infrastructure, Integration Centers and international logistics services.

"FusionStorm is committed to delivering industry-leading consulting, engineering, integration and cloud solutions to our global customers," Serpico said. "We anticipate continued strong demand for all of our solutions, including managed and cloud services, and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Synoptek."

Synoptek will leverage the alliance to continue its aggressive growth in the rapidly expanding managed services and cloud solutions market.

"We are growing both organically and through acquisition. Customers realize they can go to the cloud and leverage the leadership, sophisticated technology and operational excellence built into our IT operations and cloud solutions," Britt said. "Our teams are organized around customer groups so that customers have access to familiar expert resources often missing in larger service organizations while also taking advantage of a large shared infrastructure to enable performance, reliability and service. Synoptek plans to continue its expansion in new geographic markets and by providing additional cloud service offerings in the future."

FusionStorm and Synoptek were counseled in the transaction by martinwolf, a leading global mergers and acquisitions adviser focused on the IT industry.

"CIOs are looking for comprehensive managed services and cloud solutions to help create a more agile, responsive and operationally efficient IT infrastructure," said Sunil Grover, Executive Vice President, martinwolf. "Through this alliance, FusionStorm and Synoptek provide industry-leading solutions to meet those demands. We are thrilled to have been part of forming this alliance, and honored to have had the opportunity to work with Tim, Dan and their respective teams."
