4EVER Consortium Sees the Future of HEVC and UHDTV
A year after the 4EVER Consortium was created, the organisers have announced the accomplishments and future plans of the project. The consortium was formed with the primary goal of delivering optimal television viewing to audiences regardless of the viewing context, whether they are at home, using a mobile device, or watching in public areas and cinemas.

In the 1980s, a keynote speaker at a Novell Users Group meeting said, “All things will become IP.” It was almost certain the industry would adopt Asynchronous Transfer Mode, or ATM, as a more secure and deterministic networking technology.
