CHENNAI, INDIA--(Marketwired - Jul 25, 2013) - Wave Systems Corp. (
"DSCI Best Practices Meet aims at bringing security professionals together to collaborate and engage in thought-provoking discussions on security and privacy issues," said Dr. Kamlesh Bajaj, CEO DSCI. "This year we conducted a technical paper presentation competition, in association with Cisco and IEEE. It was heartening to observe that all the papers were infused with fresh ideas and innovative approaches to strengthen network security.
"I congratulate Steven Sprague from Wave Systems who won the best paper award, Asit More and Shashikala Tapaswi from ABV Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior who were the first runners up and Santosh Krishna Putchala, Rajanna Anitha Yadukumar and Krishna Bhat from Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions who qualified for the second position. I hope that these new ideas will find acceptance in the industry and contribute in making our networks more secure and robust," said Dr. Bajaj.
Commented Wave CEO Steven Sprague, "Wave and DSCI have collaborated for a number of years, so we were honored to attend 'Best Practices Meet,' and especially proud to have our technical paper singled out as best in class. The message that network access and service delivery should be allowed or denied based on the device, as opposed to the identity of the user, resonated with the panel of judges. This model has been effectively adopted by the cellular and cable industries, with instances of fraud and data compromise plummeting in each case. Trusted Computing technologies enable this new networking model."
The technical paper presentation was organized by DSCI in partnership with IEEE India Council and Cisco. The authors of six papers (from an original field of 40 nominations) presented their research to the jury members. After a critical evaluation of the papers, the winners were announced. Mr. Ponnavaikko Murugesa, Head, IEEE India Council and Dr. Kamlesh Bajaj, CEO DSCI conferred the award and congratulated the winners. The winners included:
- Mr. Steven Sprague - Wave Systems for Best Research Paper
- Mr. Asit More - ABV Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior for the first runner-up position
- Mr. Santosh Krishna Putchala - Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions for the second runner-up position
