Radio Show last night with
Donna Schneier, Arts Dealer.
Fascinating stories about her work in painting and sculpting, then the Gold Market, then back to art - looking for her niche. Which she found in post-WW II ceramic and glass.
She worked with artists such as L.A. 2, and ended up in a niche of modern jewelry, documenting the movement in the USA from the 90s to present.
Her collection will be shown at the Metropolitan Museum on May 12, 2014
She now resides in West Pam Beach, where they have asked her to also do an Annual Dinner Party for collectors.
With simple, yet strong statements, she has molded her successful story:
"If I don't believe a product is good, I don't recommend it to my clients"
"In tough times, keep putting one foot in front of the other".
"Complaining doesn't help - it paralyzes. If things aren't working, think and figure it out. Keep moving forward."
My favorite quote came at the very end of the program....
"At dinner, the table-setting is more important than the meal".
Fascinating program.
I love the way that internationally famous names are often dropped, like
Dakota Jackson.
It is indeed a small world among the great artists and creators.
Nice to see BLAP connecting with such talented people.
