TORONTO (SHfn) – Freegold Ventures Ltd. ( TSX: T.FVL , Stock Forum ) rose 8% to 56 cents on Thursday after the junior released drilling results from the Golden Summit project near Fairbanks, Alaska. The company said one hole that targeted the western area of the Dolphin deposit was drilled to a depth of 1,757 feet (535 metres) and was found to be mineralized from top to bottom. The hole averaged 0.59 grams per tonne over the entire 531 metres and included 1.10 grams per tonne gold over 90.5 metres. This represents significant expansion potential to the west and to depth of the Dolphin deposit, Freegold said.
Corvus Gold Inc. ( TSX: KOR , Stock Forum ) was up 5% to $1.02. Corvus said its joint venture partner WestMountain has indicated that they will complete on-site installation of the bulk sample gold mill and will commence test production this summer at the Terra gold project in Alaska. Planned work for the 2012 season includes a resource update and technical report. Both are expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.
