Hospitality Hits the Road for Zurich Marriott Staff

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND--(Marketwired - Jul 24, 2013) - Beyond accolades and before awards, the greatest accomplishment for any hotel property is to give back to the community. Sometimes, they even give back to communities other than their own. That was the case when associates from the Zurich Marriott Hotel headed to Romania to help add improvements to a local children's home.

On July 19, 2013, the general manager from the downtown Zurich hotel traveled to Alba Iulia, Romania as part of the annual South Germany & Switzerland Business Council's charity initiative. There, along with the engineers, the group helped the Stern der Hoffnung children´s home to build up and modernize through the installation of new electrical lines, renovated kitchens and bathrooms and more. The hotel staff also delivered furnishings and accessories to help the children live more comfortably. The two day trip also allowed the Marriott associates to share a meal with the children.

Introduced in 2005, the donation campaign of the South Germany & Switzerland Business Council welcomes craftsmen and engineers with skills in painting, plumbing, and more to assist in renovating facilities in dire need. This year, the Zurich Marriott participated alongside 13 other Marriott properties in the area. Beyond sending people, many of the properties also send along donations of up to 1.200EUR to help buy materials for the engineers on-site.

As one of the premier Zurich downtown hotels, the striking Zurich Marriott Hotel is situated in the center of the city on the banks of the river Limmat. This international business facility's Zurich accommodations offer unlimited comfort, innovation and high-end technology in each of its 255 guest rooms and nine suites.

Located near Bahnhofstrasse, the hotel's attention to detail allows guests to relax and connect to the digital world with complimentary Internet in all public areas. This Zurich downtown hotel's restaurant eCHo serves creative Swiss cuisine, which is prepared according to original recipes. The famous Thai restaurant, the White Elephant, embraces authenticity and flavors known to Thailand.

For guests planning and organizing a conference, business or social event, this Zurich international hotel has 15 conference facilities all with natural light and a range of infrastructures for a successful event. Setting the standard for other downtown Zurich hotels, the Marriott strives to maintain an environmentally friendly atmosphere and are a certified ISO 14001 hotel.

About the Zurich Marriott Hotel This popular Zurich international hotel features a new and completely refurbished lobby, reception area and business center, as well as 255 guest rooms and nine suites on 19 floors.
