Voxofon Delivers BlackBerry 10 App for All-In-One

HOUSTON, July 23, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Voxofon, a rapidly growing provider of over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging services, today announced app support for the BlackBerry 10 platform, with a user interface designed specifically for BlackBerry's Z10 model. Immediately available through the BlackBerry World app store, Voxofon BB10 edition delivers free app-to-app texts, inexpensive international calling, and affordable SMS messaging to connect both smartphone and feature phone users.

With Voxofon for BlackBerry 10, users can send messages to others who do not have smartphones by using SMS, even if the Voxofon user doesn't have an SMS plan. SMS replies are sent within the Voxofon app. Typically receiving an SMS without a plan incurs a charge, but receiving the reply within the Voxofon app is free. In addition, the entire conversation is easily followed because it is contained within one app.

• Optimizing the user interface for the Blackberry Q10 and Q5 devices.

This wave of enhancements is expected prior to BlackBerry's release of BB OS 10.2 in late summer or early fall.

"The WiFi calling capabilities will be particularly helpful for travelers, people who do not have a voice plan or who do not want to use voice plan minutes, and people in countries whose regulations do not allow local access numbers," Goloshubina said. "It also will allow free calling between Voxofon users."
