This morning I did a bit of research on BLM and they have dozens of departments within their offices. I could not discover what departments in the Kingman office would be required to sign off on the DEIS for SIRG.
If anyone calls Paul at BLM please ask him if the MOP has been approved and if yes - get the date and post it. Also ask how we can get a copy of it.
From dealing with wild horses and burros, to cattle grazing leases, oil and gas well leases, energy corridors (pipelines), forests and timber harvesting, wildfire prevention, mining and mineral claims, and solar energy projects etc. on public lands. They are responsible for maintaining roads, landscapes and archaeology sites on our public lands.
BLM was formed in 1812.
In southern Arizona the BLM law enforcement division is responsible for maintaining the BLM properties along the border. A constant problem is the
illegal dumping of garbage by illegals after they cross the border. BLM does not have the funds or manpower to clean up these dumps.
The illegals have left millions of pounds of trash and garbage. They have destroyed riparian habitat, damaged roads, structures and fences. BLM works closely
with the Border Patrol and DHS to control the illegal problems and to preserve the precious Arizona deserts.
