GE Appoints Six New Company Officers
FAIRFIELD, Conn.--( BUSINESS WIRE )--GE today announces the appointment of six new company officers. GE currently has 203 officers globally who lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.
Below are the details of the new officers:
Randy A. Fox , 52, has been appointed vice president and Chief Information Officer (CIO), GE Healthcare. In this role, he will lead the global IT organization while partnering closely with the business and regions to deliver tools, processes and systems to enable our employees, customers and their patients.
Randy has been with GE for over 25 years, having served as CIO for GE Plastics, GE Supply and GE Energy before assuming his current role. In his most recent post with GE Energy Management, Randy led the global IT organization and delivered new capabilities to support the business’ IT requirements.
He received his undergraduate degree in computer science from Ball State University and his masters of business administration from the University of Cincinnati.
Carl B. Horton , 48, has been appointed vice president and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, GE Corporate Legal. In this role, Carl is responsible for all IP matters across the company, including obtaining, monetizing and enforcing all patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets throughout the world.
Prior to his current role Carl served as Senior IP Counsel at GE Industrial Systems and GE Healthcare. He has been with GE for over 19 years.
He received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Utah and his Juris Doctor from George Washington University.
Karim Karti , 43, has been appointed vice president and Chief Marketing Officer, GE Healthcare. In this role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies for GE Healthcare globally. Karim has been with GE Healthcare for 15 years, having served in a number of business management, services, sales and marketing roles in the US, Asia and EMEA before assuming his current position.
In his most recent post as president and CEO, GE Healthcare for Russia & CIS, Turkey & Central Asia, the Middle East & Africa he successfully led market expansion building strong local capabilities and increasing partnerships with key public and private customers. Prior to starting his GE career with the Corporate Audit Staff in 1996, he served as a Brand Manager with Procter and Gamble.
He received his Diplom Ingenieur degree in engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France.
Geoff Knox, 55, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for GE Mining and GE Transportation in Australia. In this role, Geoff will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of the strategy for GE’s global mining business as well as overseeing all of GE Transportation in Australia. He will start August 6 th .
Prior to joining GE, Geoff was involved in the oil and gas, mining and metals and infrastructure industries for 35 years, with the last 16 years at the president & Chief Executive Officer level. He has extensive global experience as a construction contractor, an engineering consultant and as the owner’s engineer. Prior to joining GE, he was the President of BHP Engineering, Global Managing Director of Hatch Infrastructure and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Downer EDI Ltd.
He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Western Australia.
Stephanie K. Mains , 45, has been appointed vice president, Services Operations for Power Generation Services – GE Power & Water. In this role, Stephanie is responsible for driving global fulfillment excellence for Power Generation Services. She leads a team of nearly 3800 employees, who have operational responsibilities for parts, repairs, and field services, including outage execution, around the world.
She has been with GE for her entire career of 23 years, serving in multiple businesses and in a variety of quality, finance and operations roles with increasing responsibilities. More recently, she has held leadership roles as General Manager, Global Operations for Gas Repair, as well as General Manager, Parts & Repair Services.
She received her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Kentucky.
Richard O. Simpson , 51, has been appointed vice president, Global Supply Chain, GE Transportation. In this role, Richard is responsible for GE Transportation’s global operations covering manufacturing, sourcing and distribution, with a strong focus on expanding the business’ global footprint while managing cost.
Richard has been at GE for 28 years. Prior to serving in his current position, Richard held a number of executive positions at GE Home and Business Solutions.
He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky.
