Q. Mr. Schlumpberger, you were with Potash corp. of Saskatchewan
for over 21 years prior to joining Passport last month. What were
some of your key positions within the company?
MS: I started out as a maintenance engineer in the mine and over my career I had the good fortune of working at many different operations in a variety of positions. This not only included potash, but also nitrogen, and phosphate operations as well. This has given me a good understanding of crop nutrients, and what it takes to satisfy a customer’s needs and demands as we help to feed the world. As mentioned previously I had the opportunity to work in maintenance, as well as in operations, and even in purchasing and warehousing. Again this diversity helped me to learn these operations from the ground up, so that I have a good understanding on what it takes to make a successful fertilizer operation. Some of my other roles have included mine general superintendent, mill superintendent, maintenance and materials manager, and operations manager.
