It looks like about 60 miles to the nearest rails straight North, as the crow flys from Ensenada, so our best option for swapping ore with one of the potash miners in New Mexico might be to truck it to and from the town of Tecate near the US border, on our end, and load it on trains there. It's about 86 miles by highway from Ensenada to a railhead at Tecate. But if we can get in the $500 to $1000/ton range for the super fertilizer, that haul by truck wouldn't seem out of the question to me, until the proposed railroad is built. It is only about 55 miles from the existing tracks between Tijuana and Tecate to the north side of Ensenada if they were to build new tracks a little Northeast out of Ensenada.. Maybe Bao would consider giving the railroad a break on prices for rails and hardware for a piece of the action. I was reading that concrete ties are the latest creations for new railroad tracks, so it might be hugely beneficial for Cemex also.. Just by being in the right spot at the right time, CWRN could possibly reduce the unemployment rate in the Baja single handedly and become a two headed monster in the process..
I'm sure CWRN will continue to make a lot of money on their core iron ore business, but with a little luck and some new infrastructure we could have a very prosperous company behind our shares.. Bring on the gravy!!
