Gold Gained $12.30 Vs Weak US Dollar, Barrick Gold, Kinross, IAMGOLD, Eldorado, Harmony Gold, New Gold, AngloGold, Allied Nevada, NovaGold

On Monday, July 15, 2013 gold extended its gaining streak versus weak US dollar and easing worries over the Chinese economy aided the metal-futures prices edged up higher in electronic trade.

For August delivery gold futures gained $12.30, or 1%, to $1,289.90 an ounce, gold prices were up weekly 5.4% despite it have plummeted on Friday.

For September delivery, silver futures up +0.02% added 24 cents, or 1.2%, to $20.04 an ounce. For September delivery, copper futures declined -0.57% recovered to $3.16 a pound, where it had settled regular trade on Friday.

In metals, the Copper had declined late last week after Chinese state media quoted that the Finance Minister Lou Jiwei as saying his nation’s growth would likely to slowdown to 7% this year, missing the government’s 7.5% target.

But later on, the state run Xinhua news agency has corrected the report to say Lou forecast 7.5% growth, and 2Q gross domestic product data released on Monday surged at 7.5%.

Among the decliners in gold miners are Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX) shares were down -1.84%. Kinross Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:KGC) were off -2.02% IAMGOLD Corp (USA) (NYSE:IAG) shares were down -1.81%.

Eldorado Gold Corp (USA) (NYSE:EGO) fell -3.14%. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (ADR) (NYSE:HMY) shares were down -4.38%. New Gold Inc. (USA) (NYSEMKT:NGD) were up -2.90%. AngloGold Ashanti Limited (ADR) (NYSE:AU) shares shed -4.21%. Allied Nevada Gold Corp. (NYSEMKT:ANV) shares declined -4.99%

Among the advancers in the gold miners are, NovaGold Resources Inc. (USA) (NYSEMKT:NG) advance 1.50%.
