Cornered, govt uses 2G logic to defend Coalgate Reiterating its defence in the 2G scam, the government told Parliament’s public accounts committee on Friday that UPA-1’s decision to allocate coal blocks without competitive bidding was a policy measure aimed at boosting power, steel and cement production.
