Big Business vs. the Little guy
It so easy to label a company as a patent troll nowadays... you can almost think of it as trendy. Envisioning a lecherous troll hiding under a bridge waiting to extort compensation from a passersby .... sounds like a Fairy Tale to me... but here are some question you may want to ask yourself. Is e. Digital a Patent Troll? Are they a NPE or PAE? Do they manufacture or sell a product or products? Does e. Digital have a right to protect their patents against infringers that use their patents without licensing? Does Big Business have a right to use intellectual property without paying for it? What are patents for? Do you think Handal would go to trial to protect e. Digital's patents? A small little company going up against huge corporate giants... the task is almost insurmountable in my opinion.... as long as we are on the topic of fairy tales, I would say it's more like David v. Goliath, but you be the judge ... read further.
