MUMBAI - The BSE Sensex rose more than 1 percent on Thursday to its highest in a week as energy firms such as Reliance Industries rose on expectations that the government would announce an increase in domestic prices of gas.

SHANGHAI - China's stocks clawed back some of their recent heavy losses and cash markets steadied on Thursday, but gains were capped by concerns that last week's severe cash crunch was ushering in a period of tougher funding conditions and slower economic growth.

Deutsche Bank files for first inflation-linked fund


Deutsche Asset Management, part of Deutsche Bank AG , is set to launch India's first inflation-linked bond mutual fund, according to registration documents filed with market regulators late on Wednesday. The government has been keen to sell inflation-indexed bonds to wean investors off gold as a hedge against rising prices.  Full Article
