“TA was gagged primarily to make sure all investors knew pertinent events at the same time -- and to make sure folks with less than honorable intentions could not speculate when share count changed BEFORE the company could release PRs as to why -- for example, the Punch TV acquisition.
Apparently, Steve was right to think folks would make stupid assumptions without the facts -- we see it all over the place here! Distortions for no other reason than to try to manipulate the PPS for personal gain.
