I understand loss carry forwards. What's confusing

I understand loss carry forwards. What's confusing is the press release which states this and mech and others saying the company is realizing $750,000, but $500,000 in net profit after taxes. If the company pays no taxes on the revenue, why wouldn't $750,000 be the net?
