Respectfully, a dissenting opinion.
The logo is important. It's the face of your company and instantly communicates intended (and unintended) meaning. It's fine that the designer is Canadian and that he's thinking red, white and blue, but you're not positioning the network as a flag-waving entity. That may be ok for Fox News, but the colors and the word television make the logo look old-fashioned for a cutting-edge network. At least the logo is graphic and can be made transparent, but there's so much more to consider. Wish you'd let a professional graphics firm explore ideas.
What is VU? The logo can help answer that question.
