That is a pretty 2" KimRay gas regulator. I would guess that it has a 30psi gauge on it and if so it looks like we are holding about 8 to 10psi on our separator which is plenty of differential pressure to dump into the atmospheric tanks. What the gas regulator does, for those of you who are wondering, is senses the pressure on the vessel it is on and as pressure comes in, in this case it is from the well, the gas regulator bleeds the pressure off of the vessel down to what it is set at. This is just an example, I have no idea what pressure the well is flowing at just making up pressures for an example. Lets say the well is flowing into the separator at 150psi. If we want to keep our separator at 10psi then you would adjust the gray bolt on the top of the regulator one way or the other. Turn to the right and it will increase the pressure, turn to the left to drop the pressure. Just a few facts for those that don't work in this industry.
