A Brief History of the TigerLynk
TigerLynk Technology was first developed in the late 1990's as a harvesting solution for the underwater forest industry. In 1999, a new remote operated machine called the Aquatic Timber Harvester (ATH) was introduced. The ATH featured a 60 foot Robotic Manipulator and Tool designed for cutting large diameter timber in lakes and reservoirs.
The ATH proved successful in commercial operations at Turcurui Reservoir in the Para State of Brazil, and was hailed as a major technological innovation. The ATH is widely regarded as the industry's first proven commercial underwater timber harvesting machine. The technology was patented, and later renamed the TigerLynk.
In 2008, Hollund Industrial, Inc. acquired the patents to the TigerLynk Technology with plans to develop a Next-Generation machine system that promises to redefine the marine industry.
