My opinions and thoughts and I am far from an experienced expert. A good size buy back program should work for a squeeze but do the math. The OS is likely 1.2B shares. Let's say TECO was to buy back a whopping 200mm shares at .02 = $4mm. Where in hell does TECO get $4mm for a buyback program when $500 for a box of parts in W. Texas seems to be a struggle right now? I don't know for sure but I'm assuming that buying back a few hundred thousand shares doesn't engage the DTCC and it would take a good size portion of the OS to engage the DTCC and implement share accountability. TECO is lucky enough to have money to drill never mind buy back shares right now. I was only commenting that a buy back program would bring in the DTCC but not that it is possible for TECO. It might be a good idea if they were awarded $4mm in a countersuit and wanted to give some back to shareholders in the form of a buy back but that far down the road. What good does it do the company to buy back shares at this point in time? That won't attract the whales to be spending operational funding on a buy back program. It would only help the mom and pop investors PPS and I don't think TECO is after more mom and pop investors but more like the multi-millionaire types. A buy back would also increase the insiders personal portfolio and all current shareholders who want to simply trade the stock into a short squeeze but that's not a good way to spend operational funding when it can be put to better use like drilling. Put yourself in the mindset of a CEO, CFO, etc. I would lose much confidence in management. IMO their credibility as business builders would completely disappear if they only cared about raising the PPS for selfish reasons and then sell their shares into a squeeze. I don't want to see the little revenue they currently have going to a share buy back program for the sake of selling into a run. Let the speculation and success trends do the leg work for a short squeeze. Don't confuse trading with business fundamentals and what should be a CEO and his staff's long term goals and incentives. They are looking for the Nasdaq and $15/share just as I am and they are looking to attract whales to become a $500mm oil E&P company. Let me clarify; all I'm opinionating is that a share price of $1 will more than likely happen sooner via a short squeeze and due to the hedgies speculation of TECO's future success versus reaching $1/share based on business fundamentals and EPS.
