Charts are just a graphical illustration of price action. Price action quantifies the expectations and perception of the stock, even with blatant manipulation.
If revenue were the only issue, then penny stock oil and gas company FEEC should be trading at zero. They were negative 27 million in net income last year, and lost about that much the prior two years. It's market cap is roughly 64 million dollars.
I have a whole watchlist of other penny stock and small cap oil and gas companies that don't trade on any basis of anything that can be deemed as fundamental. These are all speculative plays that trade on expectations and emotions, and that is exactly why charting has everything to do with the stock.
The action in the field has created positive expectations for TECO as confirmed by the uptrend. We are early in the trend but it is a trend nonetheless.
