MPDD Device Gaining Popularity with Patients and Doctors, Marketed by EPGL Medical and EP Global Communications, Inc.

A growing number of patients and doctors are believers in a new way to treat pain

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) April 24, 2013

EP Global Communications, Inc. (the Company), (Stock Ticker: EPGL) released the MPDD medical device for the treatment of chronic pain just last month. The device, which has been in development for several years, had not been made available to the open market until March 2013. Several doctors and patients involved in research and within clinical settings have known about the successful outcomes which were made possible by the MPDD device.

Now, as the FDA cleared MPDD has finally been made available for doctors to purchase, the early experiences by both doctors and patients is continuing to show excellent results. People who thought they had no hope of attaining lasting relief from chronic back, neck, and other pain, are becoming fans of the device quickly. "Let's just say that I'm using it on a daily basis on well over 50% of my patients," said Kenneth Wenz, M.D., a Myrtle Beach SC pain specialist and anesthesiologist. "It's no surprise that the device can confirm a palpated trigger point quite easily. However, I find it interesting that the device identifies painful muscle regions that are not palpated by traditional exam. For example, I had an elderly gentleman who has had chronic neck pain for years. He has had surgery, facet joint injections, medications and physical therapy but just has not had any relief of the pain. He pointed to the cervical paraspinous region as the source of the discomfort. However, when I used the MPDD I was able to identify painful muscles 3cm lateral to where he was pointing. I injected this region and started him on appropriate home exercises. He is now starting to notice relief." Said Dr. Wenz. "I had another patient with low back pain who was scheduled to see me for injections into the joints of the back. She had had good relief with these injections in the past. However she was frustrated that she had developed right inguinal (groin) pain and had been dealing with it for months. I was unable to palpate any trigger points. I then used the MPDD on her back and gluteal region and identified a tender muscle over a gluteal multifidi muscle. As I was stimulating the muscle the patient responded with "That's it!" I injected the muscle and within five minutes her inguinal pain was gone. Needless to say she was very happy (and so was I)."

Patients are also reporting their success with MPDD: "I've been suffering from back pain for years. In addition to bulging disc issues, I also have severe trigger point pain in my back as well. I was really excited when I first learned of the MPDD device and knew that I had to give it a try ASAP." Says Stephen Freeman of Winston-Salem, NC. "My wife is an orthopedic nurse at a local hospital and accompanied me to my appointment. She was amazed by the device and couldn't wait to get back to work and share her experience with the MPDD to the Neuro doctors she works with regularly. She felt that this device could help eliminate 1,000's of needless ineffective back surgeries. I explained to Dr. Wenz that I've had trigger point injections in the past and they were very ineffective as the doctor just randomly injected my back with a steroid. Dr. Wenz explained that before the MPDD, that was the only way to approach muscle pain. I am really excited about my future now. It's been quite depressing living with back pain for so long. My wife was moved to tears to see me experiencing relief."
