Check out SIRG - owns 80% of the Chloride Copper Mine in NW Arizona. Working through the permitting process, production is expected to start in early Jan/Feb. The mine was closed in 1996 when copper prices dropped to around $1.00 a lb. The pit shows signs of erosion but the ore is loose, no blasting. Paul C. Rizzo Associates, an international mining consulting company was hired in Feb. to assist in the permitting process, design a new heap leach pond and re-engineer the pit.
SIRG plans to turn the above into this. The live of the mine is estimated at 10 years. There are also
tailing piles that will produce 5 million lbs. or more that will be very low cost to produce.
