Nothing to worry about-just some stuff for mystery fans- says the ship is in the Bering sea! (between Alaska and Russia) though the coordinates are not technically the Bering Sea
again, marinetraffic could easily solve this mystery by following convention by posting N and S as part of lat readings and E and W or plus/minus for longitude readings -which you would think a ship traffic site would do as 2nd nature/given
after showing the ship progressively coursing west to a point S of the Alaskan peninsula-the ship as per these coordinates is headed back towards the USA again without ever getting near China--UNLESS it has crossed the international dateline-in which case the longitude numbers would begin declining from 180- but without showing E or W as part of long readings -and without showing minus or plus either they dont give us that info and the largest long given so far has been ca 164* -presumably W-far from the 180* dateline
previous longitude posted was 163.87* ,now only 158.68* - which at that latitude is maybe 250 miles EAST of the previous 163.87W-UNLESS crossed the dateline-which is 180*longitude- but I didnt think it did from the sporadic reportings we receive-and the info reported in this post was received ca same time by marinetraffic as the info reported yesterday-this days info is reported as 4 days 20 hrs old-yesterdays as 3 days 20 hrs ago-and it could not have thus jumped the line at that time given the coordinates
but the most logical thing then if this is our ship is it did cross the dateline -coordinates indicate a possible stopover near anchorage,Alaska, and IF it crossed the dateline, now proceeding east and south presumably to China
48.34*N is N of Japan mainland and still far N of any Chinese port, esp Ningbo at 29.8*N
from the beginning I suspected these coordinates esp after passing Columbia river far out to sea and postulated after initially leaving AIS antenna range after going out 100 plus miles in a direct slightly southerly course to Ningbo-the last coordinates that made sense- that some tech or whatever at marinetraffcs site had confused our Ilia w another ship-which marinetraffic began following
all indications, other than the mysterious series of coordinates, are that the ship is progressing directly to Ningbo China,as the ships captain keeps reporting as the destination w an ETA of ca June11/12, where Bao has a plant, and then to Yuso,S Korea--though it now shows Yuso and not Ningbo-compare w iggys postings and u begin to see how scatterbrained these ship sites are-- and a June 11/12 arrival in China without an Alaskan joyride would be expected in a direct crossing
not important-just info for mystery fans
