The lab is dedicated lab for trials. They have their own PhD biostatistician and crunch out numbers to the nth degree. So when lab asks for more samples - it usu just means they want more info to quantify for their curve. My impression was that they may have seen some, perhaps scant amount, of activity in their existing samples and wanted more to confirm activation.
