Agreed.  Shorting, especially naked shorts, should be flat out illegal.  It's like playing with somebody's money and goods without their knowledge or permission.  I can't break into your house, steal and sell your jewelry with the hope of buying it back at a discount before you know.  In the real world you go to jail for "shorting."
