I'm familiar w Alaska Steel Co -but most of its plants are in the midwest but Alaska is so far off the CWRN radar i didnt realize it had any plants in Alaska but Alaska Steel Co might have a plant in the Anchorage area-the most industrialized area-
so maybe the ship will turn more Northerly and offload at Seward or Anchorage Alaska
-which begs the question-what about the 45000 tons of ore 6-25-12 PR said was left at port after the previous ship known to us left-which by all accounts tour knowledge was headed to Bao- was there an intervening ship we werent even aware of that took Baos ore to China after the Qin Hai left 6-13-12?
From Alaska Steel co site:
Alaska Steel Company, located on 7.5 acres in Anchorage, is a full line steel and aluminum distributor with a rebar fabrication division on site. In addition, we have branches in Kenai and Fairbanks along with five distributors throughout the state. Our 40,000 sqft warehouse with accompanying railsiding, along with our strong domestic and international mill relationships, and our ability to move large and small amounts of freight- cost effectively- allows us to provide our customers with the widest range of competitively priced metals in Alaska.
Our seasoned sales staff and purchasing department has years of arctic weather experience and technical knowledge that is required to handle projects in Alaska. This coupled with a broad range of inventory has allowed Alaska Steel to build long-term relationships with companies in key segments of the Alaska market. These areas include oil & gas, mining, commercial building and fishing.
We would encourage interested parties to call and set up a tour of our facilities.
