Nice link-shows major routes used by that carrier from Mexico to Asia-which could take one to Japan-35-40 * N for pertinent ports (especially if final destination was N China, and Japan imports iron and will need a lot of iron to rebuild the North-
but going thousands of miles out of the way towards Alaska makes no sense-waste of fuel and time- especially when any load bound for such far north points could not exceed 8000 tons-since CWRN -as per Ensenada port site-as posted by ly1 and iggy etc- loaded 70000 tons, leaving at most 7000 to 8000 tons for another companies product- plus the draft of ilia before and after loading CWRN ore confirmed the ship was essentially empty before loading CWRN ore
