Girl Scouts - Flags collected through May 24, at 500 Parade
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Girls Scouts and Indiana War Memorials Commission are once again teaming up to collect tattered U.S. flags for proper retirement.
Hoosier residents can take their old flags to the Indiana War Memorial or any Girl Scouts of Central Indiana service center through May 24.
This year also marks a new partnership with the 500 Festival – flags will be collected the morning of the IPL 500 Festival Parade on May 25. Flags will be collected from 8 – 11 a.m. on the top of the north steps on the Indiana War Memorial, according to a release.
All flags collected will be properly retired during ceremonies this summer at Girl Scout and resident camps.
