Min share price in the Nasdaq is $5/share. Based on market cap if TECO required a 1/5 split to get uplisting status then their OS goes to approx. 220 million shares assuming the OS is 1.1B right now. If a shareholder has 1mm shares they would then have 200k shares but at $5/share or $1mm . Why is that bad? Above and beyond you gain a real audience and lose certain MM's and hedgies. I maybe off a bit but this is how I see it. Most pennies RS for the sake of an RS and usually the day the RS opens the shareholders sell and run for cover causing more losses.
