GOWEX expands international reach to the French Riviera

· GOWEX and the city of Nice sign an agreement for a new free WiFi service.

Nice, May 14 th 2013 . - The city council of Nice and GOWEX (GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Alternext, LGWXY-OTC), a leading company in the creation of Wireless Smart Cities ® and Intelligent WiFi Transport, announced today an agreement that will allow people in Nice to enjoy a new free WiFi service that will be available in some of the city’s major public areas.
GOWEX already offers free WiFi access in Paris and extends this offering to the largest resort on the French Riviera . This service is in addition to those which are already being offered in public areas and the major transport stations of other French cities such as Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille and Aix-en Provence.
Free WiFi for 4 million tourists
Approximately four million tourists who visit the city every year will be able to enjoy access to this free WiFi during their stay. "We believe that t he new WiFi network will be a great benefit to the city and will prove a significant attraction to tourists. Consequently, the local hospitality industry can also expect to see a benefit from this new service ", Jenaro García , GOWEX CEO, said.
Nice attracts 40% of the French Riviera tourist traffic : it has the second busiest domestic airport after Paris with the largest number of passengers per year (around 10 million), and has about 20 different low-cost airlines carrying 30% of the travelers. It also has the largest hotel capacity in the regionwith more than 200 hotels.
Connect to "NiceGOWEXFREEWiFi" for free
During the initial stage, users will be able to surf the net for free outside, near the sea area of the city(specifically on the Cours Saleya and Place du Palais) with new areas being added progressively to the WiFi service. In order to go online, users will first need to register on the network «NiceGOWEXFREEWiFi» The gateway to the network will then offer relevant and useful local information for citizens and visitors.
