Mitchell Pictures from Friday
I got to the Mitchell lease with Bull around 3pm on Friday and it was starting to rain. The difficulty that rain presents to this job site is no exaggeration. Basically, it's one big dirt field that turns into mud. That means there would be no getting in or getting out, not to mention the fact that the rig is one giant lightning rod.
We had enough time to tour the rig though as the pictures show. It's a real operation and if you take a look at the 5th picture of the mud pit you will see some different colored liquid floating on top of the water. That's not chocolate milk. Shortly afterwards, we went to speak with Mike, the geologist. He went over some of the data he recorded of the oil shows and it was good news to me as far as I could tell.
The last picture on here is the Mitchel 3 from yesterday at about 9 am, right before they swabbed the line. As you saw in Bull's video, I was there and took a whiff of the plastic bottle they filled with some of the contents of the line and it was definitely oil. There aren't smellophones yet so you just had to be there in person.
I look forward to making another trip out there at the end of the month hopefully to to visit the tanks filled to capacity with oil.
