I was under the impression that we bought the comp

I was under the impression that we bought the company (and it's name).  I didn't realize it was a very different/specific deal.   If the name is a toxic asset, it should be dissolved somehow since we own it.  2 entities cannot claim the name of the same company (or can they?).
