Arbor Networks Honored as a Hot Company Winner in the 8th Annual 2013 Hot Companies and Best Products Awards

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwired - May 9, 2013) - Arbor Networks, Inc. , a leading provider of network security and management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks announced today that Network Products Guide, the industry's leading technology research and advisory guide, has named Arbor Networks as a Hot Company winner in the 8 th Annual 2013 Hot Companies and Best Products Awards. The company was also honored with two bronze awards in the Security Hardware category for its Pravail ® Availability Protection System (APS) and Pravail ® Network Security Intelligence (NSI) products.

"We are gratified to be recognized by Network Products Guide as it reaffirms our position in the industry as an innovator and thought leader," said Arbor Networks President Colin Doherty. "Arbor is addressing some critical problems from denial of service attacks to the broader advanced threat landscape. This is a challenging time for our industry, and we are committed to innovating and staying ahead of the threat environment. This recognition is a testament to the people at Arbor and the passion they bring to work every day."

Arbor is focused exclusively on researching, detecting and mitigating network-based threats and is best known for its pervasive footprint in service provider networks. Arbor's technology is deployed in the vast majority of the world's service provider networks, including 90% of tier one operators, and is also broadly deployed among the largest hosting/cloud providers and in over 150+ enterprises spanning financial services, retail, healthcare, universities and government organizations. What separates Arbor from other vendors is how the company leverages this pervasive service provider footprint to benefit all of its customers through Arbor's Active Threat Level Analysis System (ATLAS) -- a collaborative project with more than 250+ customers who have agreed to share anonymous traffic data with totaling an amazing 42Tbps.

Arbor's Pravail APS is the first on-premise enterprise security product focused on securing the network perimeter from threats against availability -- specifically, application-layer DDoS attacks. Pravail APS delivers out of the box attack identification and mitigation capabilities that can be rapidly deployed with little configuration, even during an attack. Hand-in-hand with Pravail APS, Pravail NSI is the critical first step in addressing the risks posed by advanced threats including malware, insider threats and other highly targeted attacks. It offers a much-needed comprehensive view of all activities occurring in, on and around the network, including unmanaged devices that are accessing corporate resources and botnet communication.

The industry and peer recognitions from Network Products Guide are the world's premier information technology awards honoring achievements and recognitions in every facet of the IT industry. Winners from all over the world were honored in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 during the 8 th annual dinner and presentations. An annual achievements and recognition awards program with active participation from a broad spectrum of industry voices, the coveted annual Hot Companies and Best Products recognition program encompasses the world's best in organizational performance, products and services, hot technologies, executives and management teams, successful deployments, product management and engineering, customer satisfaction, and public relations in every area of information technology.
