Ensenada International Terminal (EIT) is located 110 kilometers south of the US border. It serves as the maritime container and general cargo terminal of Baja California, and as a major gateway to the Pacific coast regions of North and South America as well as Asia.
EIT is ideally situated to provide import and export services to the many assembly plants and other large manufacturers in the region as well as those dedicated to the export of bulk cargoes as iron ore, metal scrap and agricultural grain.
Operations began in 1997 when EIT was awarded a 20-year concession to operate the Port of Ensenada's container terminal. New container handling equipment was installed in 1998. In 2001, EIT was acquired by HPH, which implemented innovative operations procedures to increase the volume of bulk wheat exports.
