So how would you have him word it... this might get resolved sometime in the future?  Or, maybe this might get resolved.  Or, maybe I have something to say about the issue but don't want to give any information at this time.

Geez... its just information, given to the best of his current knowledge... its not an absolute, or written in concrete.  I think most understand that.
