Stock futures on the fence ahead of jobs data
MADRID (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock market futures stuck to the flat line on Friday ahead of crucial April jobs data that’s expected to show an increase in payrolls after a disappointing March, on a light day for corporate results, though LinkedIn could fall after a downbeat outlook.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (CBE JM3) fell 2 points to 14,758, while those for the Standard & Poor’s 500 index (GLC:SPM3) eased 0.8 point to 1,591.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index (GLC:NDM3) rose 1 point to 2,903.
Economists expect that the U.S. added 135,000 jobs in April, higher than the 88,000 reported in March, which they also expect will be revised upwards. The unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 7.6%. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/stock-future...atest_news
