Iggy is our champion ship watcher. Thru whatever means he was the first to discover a previous ship. He has given me permission to release the name of next ship as per his calculations. He says our next ship is the Ilia V (formerly the llia) registered in Panama,larger than any previous ship w 7 holds-not 5 holds-w a tremendous difference between the DWT of over 80000 tons and the gross tonnage-which various sites describe as 42000-44000 tons. Even this same site variously lists as 42000 and 44027 GT


As per my last post here the gross tonnage is suppose to be the correct one for weight of cargo- DWT includes ballast people crew fuel,stores etc-though these non cargo items usually amount to only a few thousand tons difference and I would expect a 7 hold ship to hold over 44000 tons GT.


ca 45000 tons Bao ore still at port(see 6-25-12 PR and previous posts calculations-though they could have trucked more since then) so gross tonnage would be just right to pick that up.


I earlier asked him: This is the only Ilia registered Panama flag I could find -is this it?-rightsize for ore at port-still hundreds of miles out-you have good eyes or field glasses lol- sites variously say gross tonnage 42000-44000 tons--same length as your ship but data confusing-but he verified that was the ship-same imo and call number etc


these ship sites can be difficult-last I tried I couldnt get a position on this later than Apr 28 when it was near Acapulco Mexico supposedly heading south-yet as per data iggy provided its suppose to dock 9 a.m May 1 and leave Ensenada May 11-an unusually long stay-we can check that again at vesseltracker.com and marine traffic.com. These sites usually have poor ocean coverage re anything beyond the 40-100 mile range of scattered shore based antennas and thus usually give us little warning of approaching ships.


why such a huge discrepancy between DWT and GT? As I said it looks larger than a GT of 44027 tons.
